COUNTY council officials are investigating the origin of tonnes of refuse which was discovered hidden within forestry.

The find was made yesterday in North Cork, just a few miles from where a 10-acre illegal dump was located last May.

The latest discovery was made at Coombe East, two miles north-west of the village of Glenville. The site, which is about 40 metres wide, was strewn with electrical appliances, worn tyres, bottles and a large amount of refuse in plastic bags.
