Former NIB bosses could face prosecution

FORMER executives of National Irish Bank could face prosecution for helping people set up bogus accounts.

The Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation has been conducting its own investigation into the affairs of the bank, and a file is expected to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Last week, High Court inspectors named 19 people who it said were helping customers set up bogus non-resident accounts to evade tax.
