Cash holders told to come forward

“We are asking those people to come forward and tell us everything they know rather than us coming knocking on their door,” Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy said yesterday.

The suspicion that individuals may be holding large sums of cash in “dubious” circumstances follows the surrender of a bundle of sterling notes totalling £175,000 (€253,661) by a man who walked into a garda station in Cork city on Thursday night.
