ANIMAL welfare officers treating a dumped greyhound which had its ears hacked off claim they are edging closer to tracing its owner.

Results of DNA samples taken from the greyhound, named Aoife by its rescuers, will be returned to the ISPCA in Waterford within three weeks.

The horrific find was made in Tramore, Waterford, almost two weeks ago.
