Second round leaves 13,133 without an offer

This leaves 13,133 of the almost 66,000 school leavers, mature students and overseas students who applied for a college place through the CAO without any offer.

Of around 650 degree courses filled through the CAO system, only 220 took in more students in the second round. The points requirements for most of these have not fallen, so many have only taken in very few or even just a single extra student.
