Youth loses life after he was beaten in a fight

A 14-YEAR-OLD who was assaulted in a vicious street attack at the weekend has lost his battle for life.

Brian Rossiter collapsed in a garda cell in his home town of Clonmel on Wednesday morning. He’d been savagely beaten in a fight in the early hours of Monday morning. He told nobody about the assault.

He was detained overnight.

When he complained about feeling unwell on Wednesday morning, a local doctor was alerted and the teenager was immediately taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Clonmel. From there, he was transferred to Cork University Hospital where he was put on a life support machine.

His family gathered round his bed side yesterday evening to say their final farewell and to switch off the life support machine. His grandmother, Joan Rossiter, said the family had not been given much hope that Brian would survive.
