Number of women drinking themselves to death triples

THE number of women drinking themselves to death has trebled in the last seven years, shocking new figures reveal.

Research published in the British Medical Journal shows there has been an almost 300% increase in deaths due to cirrhosis of the liver between 1993 and 2000.
