MOTORISTS should be concentrating on driving safely rather than obsessing about the speed limit, the National Safety Council said yesterday.

The agency said drivers seemed to be more worried about garda efforts to stop them breaking the speed limit than their own behaviour.

"People should be more mindful of what kind of driving environment they are in, such as the weather conditions and if there are children around, than worrying whether they are just under the speed limit," said Brian Farrell of the NSC.
