Sargent rules out Green Party support for FF

GREEN PARTY leader Trevor Sargent yesterday sought to play down speculation on the party’s role in any alternative government as he outlined priorities for the new Dáil term.

Ruling out support for Fianna Fáil, Mr Sargent also repeatedly brushed aside questions on the make-up of the opposition coalition. Instead, he said he wanted to make it clear what the Green Party’s goals and policies were to achieve a strong mandate for the party’s principles in any future government.

“That is our focus. How that government is made up is secondary to that,” he said.
