Irish cosmetic surgeons surf the wave of Christmas botox boom

DEMAND for cosmetic surgery has surged by 250% in the run-up to Christmas as Irish people are increasingly giving gifts of collagen, restylane and botox treatment for the festive season.

The Harley Medical Group, which sees clients from all over the country at its Dublin clinic, says people are giving themselves and others the gift of surgery this year.

Most popular in the run-up to Christmas are injectable treatments used to either smooth facial lines on the brow, around the eyes and the mouth, or to increase lip definition and boost pouting possibilities. They typically account for 10% of treatments carried at The Harley Medical Group during the year.
