THE award-winning film-maker, Ken Loach, is about to begin shooting his latest feature film, The Wind That Shakes The Barley, in a variety of locations around Cork and Kerry.

Loach, who directed My Name Is Joe, Land And Freedom and Sweet Sixteen, reunites with his long-time collaborator, Paul Laverty (Carla's Song, Ae Fond Kiss, My Name is Joe) and producer Rebecca O'Brien for a tale set in Ireland in 1919 during the guerrilla war with the Black and Tans.

O'Brien, of Sixteen Films, confirmed that filming will begin in Cork on Monday, May 23.
