Cork 2005 reveals calendar of culture

THE programme for the European Capital of Culture was launched yesterday in Cork, making public for the first time the near-250 events taking place in the city throughout next year.

Cork is the smallest city to be designated European Capital of Culture, and the first to solely hold the title in any given year.

Divided into eight disciplines, the programme promises the Irish and visiting public the best in music, theatre and visual arts. Film, literature and sporting events are also included in the line-up.
