COMMUTERS will be able to travel on 250km of continuous motorway between Cork and Dublin by 2009, the National Roads Authority promised yesterday.

The latest 17.5km link on one of the country’s busiest roads was officially opened yesterday and will save drivers 30 minutes at peak travel times.

Transport Minister Martin Cullen said the €140m Monasterevin bypass would remove about 16,000 vehicles a day from the County Kildare bottleneck.
