Gardaí foil gang-feud attacks with Limerick arms seizures

THE seizure of a number of firearms during a major search in the Moyross area of Limerick may have foiled another feud-related attack in the city, gardaí revealed yesterday.

In an early morning raid on Saturday, gardaí recovered two automatic handguns and two sawn-off shotguns. One of the weapons and a powerful 1,000cc motorbike were found in a derelict house in Delmege Park, while three other weapons were located in a ditch and fields between Moyross and Longpavement.

Some 30 gardaí took part in the major search as part of the ongoing major investigations into feuding gangs in the city.
