E-voting troubled by reliability doubts
The taxpayers’ watchdog, the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG), is the latest body to suggest that there is a strong case for independent testing of the e-voting system before it comes in for the local and European elections.
Minister for Environment Martin Cullen is inviting hundreds of TDs, councillors and local authority officials to an event, paid for by the taxpayer, in the Mansion House tomorrow. The roll-out of the voting system is costing the taxpayer €34m and the nationwide publicity campaign is costing €4.5m.
