The Point goes pop as stars shine for Childline
Among the headline acts were Westlife, Girls Aloud and Brian McFadden.
McFadden, who is a former Westlife singer, made no reference to speculation that he is to wed his new girlfriend Delta Goodrem. She was spotted recently flashing a ring on her engagement finger.
The smitten pair went public with their relationship just over a week ago on British TV show CD:UK - and shortly after the confession, while performing their duet Almost Here, Delta was seen sporting a platinum dazzler.
Father of two Brian, 24, who separated from wife, ex-Atomic Kitten babe Kerry Katona just last summer, has feigned keeping his new relationship private.
But with disappointing sales of his debut album, he appears to be quietly pleased with the media attention, albeit for things other than his middle of the road music.
Meanwhile, his ex-wife Kerry is going to have laser surgery to remove her ‘Brian’ tattoo.
Westlife’s Kian Egan and ex-Hollyoaks Star Jodi Albert hosted this year’s concert, which was televised by RTÉ 2.
V, Darius, Zoo Sweet*t, D’Side, Lemar and Carol Anthony with many other acts were on the glittering bill.
Since its inception in 1997, the Childline Concert has featured a stunning array of pop casts such as Robbie Williams, S Club 7, Blue, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Five, All Saints, Busted, Sugar Babes, Big Brovaz, Samantha Mumba, Boyzone, Rachel Stevens, Blazin’ Squad and Gareth Gates.
Childline, Ireland’s number one children’s charity, will receive over €200,000 from the concert and has benefited to tune of over €1.4 million since the Childline concerts started in 1997.
