Central Bank sees ‘worrying’ trend in house price rises

THE Central Bank says it is increasingly worried about the rise in house prices and the growing levels of personal debt.

In its latest report, the bank said it had expected to see house price inflation slow by now, but instead, despite a rise in interest rates, prices are growing.

It also fears Ireland is about to become the country with the most debt in Europe.
