Martin announces 255 jobs at four new projects

The announcements were made by Enterprise, Trade and Employment minister Micheál Martin yesterday.

The companies are Hartford Financial Services Group in Swords, car rental company AutoEurope in Sandyford, hospitality and catering company MarketBoomer in the Digital Hub and Colgate-Palmolive, which is planning an expansion to its facility in Citywest Business Park.

The minister said IDA Ireland had worked closely with the companies to encourage the new investments.

“This confirms Ireland’s strength as a gateway to the European market and highlights its competitive position in financial services and e-business,” Minister Martin said. He insisted Ireland remained a strong location choice for major companies in different sectors.

The Hartford group plans to employ 130 of the proposed new jobs with the new Swords base expected to manage the company’s life assurance business in Britain.
