Ombudsman may probe drugs refund ‘disgrace’

He was responding to a call from Labour to investigate the State’s decision not to refund the 30 million owed to people in the Drugs Payment Scheme who were overcharged.

The Attorney General has ruled there is no legal obligation on the State to refund the money and advised Health Minister Micheál Martin accordingly.
