Knocking on door of credibility political reporter

THERE was no doubting the Government's commitment to regulating the private rental market yesterday with the publication of the new Residential Tenancies Bill.

This is the first attempt to give tenants in private housing the same rights tenants on the land got over 100 years ago.

But the big question is whether it will go far enough to protect more than 100,000 tenants from eviction and rising rents.
