Cats celebrate comedy birthday

The Murphy’s Cat Laughs Comedy Festival is back for its 10th anniversary and thousands of revellers are expected in Kilkenny city from June 3-7 for five days of side-splitting fun.

Festival director Richard Cook and co-director Lynn Cahill, who founded the festival in 1995, said they were delighted the festival had reached its 10th birthday and were looking forward to 10 more years.

“Every year the festival has gone from strength to strength so to celebrate we have lined up some special surprises. We’ve also tried to bring back comedians who have appeared across the 10 years to show festival-goers the quality and diversity of standup comedy the festival has attracted.”
