PRISONERS arrested and taken to a garda station which featured heavily in the first Morris Tribunal report into Garda corruption have to be questioned in a tea room because there are no interview rooms in the cramped facility.

In Finglas, one of the busiest stations in one of the toughest areas in the State, gardaí have to work in a building with blocked emergency exits and one condemned as a clear fire hazard.

Neither Garda HQ nor the Justice Department have replied publicly to the report published earlier this week into Garda health and safety.
