INVESTIGATIONS are underway in three Cork secondary schools amid claims that students are buying into controversial pyramid schemes.

Gardaí are liaising with two schools in Mallow following reports that pupils are clubbing together to raise the €1,000 entry fee into the scheme.

Separately, teachers at Maria Immaculata Community College in Dunmanway, West Cork, will begin an investigation today to determine if students are involved in a localised pyramid scheme.
