Hospital consultant talks stall over pricing issue

HOSPITAL consultants say talks on a new contract cannot continue until the pricing issue is made a part of negotiations with management.

The Department of Health and the Health Service Executive (HSE) want the pricing to be referred to the review body on higher public service remuneration but consultants argue this is a major stumbling block.

They want the pricing of a new deal to be negotiated in direct talks with management otherwise negotiations cannot continue.
