IMC may name and shame

THE International Monitoring Committee is to write to members of political parties who they believed to be in senior positions within paramilitary groups to tell them that they intended naming them.

Committee member John Alderdice said he did not rule out the possibility of naming and shaming individuals they believed were directing terrorism in loyalist and republican organisations.

His colleague, John Grieve, said they intended to shine a spotlight on the activities of paramilitary leaders.
