Students at four schools given permission to reschedule State exams

Two of the girls killed in Monday’s tragedy, Deirdre Scanlon and Claire McCluskey, were due to sit their Leaving Cert at St Michael’s Loreto Convent secondary school in less than two weeks. Two of the school’s Junior Certificate students, Lisa Callan and Aimee McCabe, also died in the crash.

A handful of students at some of the town’s schools had missed their oral exams in April. Another small number of Leaving Certificate Applied students were due to undergo practical exams this week.
