Trust to unveil statue of writer

HAVING surmounted planning problems, the North Kerry Literary Trust will unveil a memorial to Listowel writer Bryan MacMahon, on February 12.

A life-size statue, sculpted by Hugh Hanratty, is being erected in one of the writer’s best-loved places, Listowel town square.

Literary Trust chairman Jimmy Deenihan said the site was most appropriate, as Mr MacMahon was wont to take regular walks around the square.
