THE Army should be called in to target driver test waiting list blackspots, Progressive Democrats Senator John Minihan has urged.

He wants Transport Minister Séamus Brennan to employ Defence Force personnel to bolster civilian driver tester numbers.

"The current national average waiting time of 41 weeks is totally acceptable," said Mr Minihan.
