Magical science show lights up students’ Christmas

MORE than 1,000 primary students from Limerick have experienced a magic Christmas.

Magical science show lights up students’ Christmas

All thanks to the Magical Science and Engineering Show in Limerick Institute of Technology.

In the coming months, students from primary schools across the country will get their chance to see Magical Science and Engineering Shows.

The show was both explosive and energetic, demonstrating how exciting science can be and how it is an essential part of everyone’s daily life. The scientist Susan McGrath demonstrates many forms of energy, including food digestion, rates of reactions, acid and base reactions, gases in air and properties of materials. The students even got to carry out some experiments themselves.

Teacher Linda O’Reilly from St Brigid’s National School in Limerick said: “Today’s show was very educational, stimulating and great fun.”

Aoife O’Mahony, steps to Engineering Executive said: “The Magical Science and Engineering Show is informative and educational yet engages the students with stunning visual effects.”

The programme is run by Engineers Ireland and its aim is to encourage both primary and post primary students to consider science and engineering careers once they move on to study at third level.
