EU enlargement brings out the feel-good factor

EU enlargement? There was no question about what the Estonian lads on Dublin’s Merrion Square felt about their country joining the Euro family.

Waving Estonian flags, with their faces painted in the national colours, they danced in front of one of the two stages then followed the Lithuanian brass band and their quite stunning pom-pom girls around the square.

Saturday’s European Fair, with its 25 stalls promoting the culture, food and drink of all the member States, was the focus of the city’s enlargement celebrations.
