Call to stop drinks promotions

DRINKS’ promotions which offer cut price alcohol to teenagers must be stopped, according to the president of a vocational schools’ association.

While Irish Vocational Education Association (IVEA) president Brendan Griffin commended the Government for banning cigarette companies from sponsoring sporting events, he called for similar restrictions to be placed on alcohol companies.
