Garda accident at work claims €2.25m

MORE than 200 gardaí sought compensation from the State for accidents at work over the past three years.

Two garda who were bitten by fleas were among those who took cases against the State. They sued in 2002 and won €3,500 between them.

The awards and settlements totalled almost €2.25 million.
