Battle of Westmeath wits in TCH quiz
In what proved to be one of the most exciting events of its kind ever staged in Mullingar, the schools of north Leinster proved that they are well prepared to take on all contenders.
The battle of the brains took place in the Bloomfield Hotel, Mullingar last night.
The first quiz winners were St Mary’s Secondary School, Edenderry, with a score of 96. The team consisted of Tim Groome, Christopher Lally, Anna McKelvin (capt) and Brian Merrick. In second place were St Finian’s College, Mullingar, with a score of 84. Community School, Bailieborough, with a score of 74, took third place.
Second quiz of the night was won by Scoil Mhuire, Longford, scoring 94. The team was Laura Coyle, Sarah Jane Doyle, Katie Nugent and Aisling Hughes. Second place went to Kilbeggan Secondary School with a score of 66.
