Ann set for marathon walk to help street children

A COUNTY Cork woman is to undertake the walk of a lifetime to raise money for the impoverished street children of Calcutta.

Ann set for marathon walk to help street children

Ann Duffy, from Bandon, will join 60 fellow travellers next month for a marathon walk in the foothills of the Himalayas raising money for the Hope Foundation.

Anne has always had a strong connection with children having ran a playschool for several years. However, she is turning her attention to the far greater needs of children thousands of miles away.

On Tuesday, September 23, Anne and the rest of the group will depart for Calcutta.

As each walker has been asked to raise 5,000, fundraising is essential and Anne has been very busy getting it. She’s already organised an exhibition in Ovens and her next event is a Mind Body Spirit Day on Saturday in the Munster Arms Hotel, Bandon.

Ann Duffy: (023) 41770.
