Man held as assault victim dies in hospital

A MAN, in his late 50s, who was seriously injured in an assault at his home in Listowel, Co Kerry, on Wednesday night, died yesterday afternoon at Tralee General Hospital.

Jeremiah McDonagh received head injuries and had been on a life support machine at the hospital.

A post mortem was carried out by assistant state pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, in the hospital last evening.
