Dramatic increase in firearms offences

FIREARMS offences have increased dramatically and criminals are much more likely to use them, figures released by the gardaí reveal.

Robbers and burglars are also increasingly likely to be armed with guns, according to the garda annual report.

The figures released this week also reveal that the number of high-powered assault rifles in circulation is growing.
