TEACHERS have appealed to the Government to provide funding for more officers to tackle poor attendance by school children.

The National Educational Welfare Board (NEWB) has received over 230 applications for 37 positions as

education welfare officers. They have extended the deadline for applications because of the overwhelming response to advertisements less than two weeks ago.
