Gardaí query drink driving rate claims

GARDAÍ have challenged new figures which show Cork city had one of the highest rates of drink driving case dismissals in the country last year.

The figures, released by the courts service, show that there were 385 conviction orders for drink driving offences in Cork city district court area last year.

However the figures show that a further 340 cases were dismissed - the second highest level in the country.
