Rabbitte pledges to stick with Kenny pact

LABOUR leader Pat Rabbitte yesterday stood over the so-called ‘Mullingar Pact’ with Enda Kenny, saying a Fine Gael-Labour coalition remained the most realistic alternative Government after the next general election.

Mr Rabbitte said both parties had committed to exploring the possibility of an alternative government.

Speaking on RTÉ, Mr Rabbitte said: “I believe that the Irish people are entitled to expect from their democratic parties that the system is capable of providing an alternative government.
