Cosmo women pass on hotpot for sexpot

MODERN women would be more comfortable talking about sex with Samantha from Sex and the City than ordering hotpot at the Rovers Return.

A survey has found that 21st century women see their lives reflected in TV shows such as Sex and the City and Cold Feet, rather than Coronation Street.

Research into the attitudes of affluent women about love, work, life and sex, revealed that successful women want promotion and passion above all else even if it means abandoning their femininity.

A third of the survey said they regularly read erotic fiction and watched pornographic films, while almost half said they would be "quite relaxed" about going to a lapdancing club with male friends. Psychologist Dr David Lewis questioned 500 women and said the results proved that a significant shift in the balance between men and women had occurred.

The survey revealed the modern professional woman to be willing to abandon her sensuality and sensitivity to get aggressive and get ahead.

The 18 to 35-year-olds are self-satisfied, nonconformists who have little desire to uphold old-fashioned values or to get married, and cares little if she shocks her mother or the neighbours along the way.

Dr Lewis said it was not a bad thing that women are becoming more aggressive.
