CRIMINAL law rules should be changed to allow more evidence be put before juries, according to an expert on our criminal justice system.

Barrister Paul Anthony McDermott said yesterday that he believed all relevant evidence should be put to juries for them to decide on its significance.

“We may need to change our laws of evidence and trust juries a bit more than we do at the moment. Juries are 12 members of the public - maybe we should put all the evidence before them,” he said.
