UCC to apply for permission to build E30m library

UCC is to apply for planning permission to construct a 30 million library for post graduate research.

UCC president Professor Gerard Wrixon said that an application for funding for the project would be made through the recently-restored PRTLI funding, a grant for post graduate research which was previously frozen by the Government.

“This capital funding which will now become available is crucial for the strategic development of research programmes within Irish universities from which will flow hugely positive educational and economic benefits,” Prof Wrixon said.
