ROY KEANE’S autobiography has broken the record for first day sales of a hardback book in Ireland.

“There’s been a huge interest,” said Martin Black, the general manager of Eason’s in Dublin. “We might sell a few thousand Maeve Binchy books but this is exceptional.”

Eason’s initially stocked 30,000 copies of the book and has since placed orders for 20,000 more. The O’Connell Street store sold 780 copies on the first day of its release and expects to sell 5,000 by the end of the week.
