TDs urge U-turn on house grants

MINISTER for Finance Charlie McCreevy is under growing pressure from party members to row back on plans to abolish the first-time buyers grant for housebuyers.

As controversy grew about the cost-cutting measure yesterday, several Fianna Fáil backbenchers said they wanted the minister to reverse his

decision on the abolishment.
