Government to publish Child Abuse Commission review findings

A REVIEW of the workings of the Child Abuse Commission by new chairman, Mr Justice Sean Ryan, will be published by the Government later today.

Minister for Education Noel Dempsey will present the findings of the review and give his response to the document at Government Buildings this afternoon.

Mr Justice Ryan’s report is expected to set out how the commission can resume stalled investigations into some 3,000 allegations of abuse by Catholic clergy against children in residential institutions dating back to the 1940s.
