Sale of rezoned land faces protest
The McShain property, worth millions, was the subject of a bitter rezoning controversy earlier this year, during which Killarney Town Council decided to rezone a five-acre site, adjoining Killarney National Park, from amenity to residential.
The rezoning enables the McShain family apply for planning permission for a development of around 12 exclusive houses, each in the €1 million bracket, and the property is being offered for sale by Killarney auctioneer Tom Spillane.
