Volkswagen Ireland has confirmed that it is to offer the 4WD Passat Alltrack in early 2016.
The car, which was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show last month, will be offered with two power outputs of 150bhp and 190bhp.
Based on the Passat Estate, the Alltrack sits 27.5mm higher and comes as standard with 4MOTION permanent all-wheel drive.
This makes it capable of coping with poor driving conditions and some off-road situations. It also has a towing load of up to 2,200kg.
The car’s exterior features include modified bumpers (with underbody guard in stainless-steel look), rugged wheel arches and side sill mouldings covers in ‘Anthracite’ and sill extensions.
There are also anodised silver roof rails, ‘Alltrack’ badges on the radiator grille and tailgate, and custom 17in alloy wheels (which can be upgraded to 18in or 19in options).
Pricing will be confirmed in the coming months, but it is expected to be in the region of €45,000.
