The snappy, 2015 Volkswagen Golf R will cost €42,445, a €9,550 reduction on the 2014 model – despite extra kit to the value of €2,280.

Standard equipment includes bi-xenon headlights, adaptive cruise control, Climatronic 2-Zone air conditioning and park distance control.

The four variant models will include a choice of either three- or five-doors fitted with either a six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed DSG gearbox.
