Motors and me: Anna Daly, TV3 Presenter

John O’Mahony catches up with Ireland AM Presenter Anna Daly to see what’s under her bonnet.

Motors and me: Anna Daly, TV3 Presenter

What are you currently driving?

Seat Leon ST, estate.

Love at first sight, or just a means to get from A to B?

A rare case of practicality mixed with style. I can’t have fancy, impractical cars, now that I’m a mum with twolittle people to safely transport around, but I do think I’m lucky enough to have the perfect mix.

What’s under the bonnet?

If there’s anything other than the mechanics of the car, I’ll be very surprised. Better check…!

Petrol head or Sunday driver?

I love cars and I definitely have an appreciation for a well-designed motor. My Dad has been in the motor industry all his life, my brother is a mechanic, my cousins and uncle have very successful tyre businesses, and I love nothing more than putting my foot down in a rally car in Mondello, so, I suppose, all of that combined gives you your answer.

What was your first car?

A VW Polo. A great starter-car, in my opinion.

What else do/did you own?

A Mini Cooper S Cabriolet. Good looks, but a terrible waste of money.

Dream drive in dream location?

Great Ocean Road in Australia. Mega.

Passenger you’d most like on a long journey?

Jonathan Ross.

Passenger you’d least like?

Racing commentator John McCririck.

What’s on your playlist?

Everything from Pharrell to The XX.
