Renault Captur review (04/12/2013)

I HAVE to admit that I came to the Renault Captur with a preconceived notion that I was going to be completely underwhelmed by this new mini SUV from the French outfit. Equally, I have to tell you, I left the car back with the feeling that preconceived notions aren’t worth a fig.

The Captur is yet another car in an avalanche of crossovers we have been seeing lately and I don’t like an awful lot of them, and I didn’t expect the Renault would change my opinions much. This was especially so given that Renault now owns the king of the crossovers, Nissan, and I don’t particularly like any of theirs.

However, I came away from the car feeling that Renault had done a good job on two fronts: firstly, the engine in this thing was a delight and, secondly, Renault had done a really good job of making what is essentially a fashion accessory quite a good car.
